Please, check your time zone differences before calling. Example : Noon, Monday, Canberra time is depending on daylight saving time, 7.00pm Sunday Los Angeles in our winter, 5.00 in our summer. Conditions of Sale

Capital Classics sells both new and used parts and we stand behind everything we sell. Customers, please read the following terms :

By purchasing any items from Capital Classics you automatically agree to any/all the below conditions of sale.

  1. Goods may be exchanged when faulty or money refunded when no suitable replacement is available.
  2. Goods in blister packs that have been opened may not be returned, no exception. All returned goods are subject to a 20% restocking fee. There are no return/refund provisions for parts which have been fitted to a car and damaged in the process.
  3. "Used" parts are sold by description and may be returned for refund ONLY where the customer believes the description to be inaccurate. No guarantee appies to any used part.We give accurate descriptions at all times, even tending to understate the quality of a part; however, time, rust and misuse by previous owners preclude our guarantee.
  4. The return of any goods is subject to approval by Capital Classics and the cost of freight/mail will be at the customers expense except in the case of faulty new parts.
  5. Without exception, no electrical part will be exchanged or refunded where it has been fitted to a car, damaged, modified or otherwise altered. Capital Classics does not manufacture any electrical part - we only stock items made by other people and we do not guarantee or warrant by either expressed word or idea that we are in any way responsible for any damage caused by faulty electrical parts. The customer may not at any time render us responsible for any damage caused by faulty parts.
  6. Goods damaged in transit may be covered by insurance IF you inspect the cartons BEFORE signingthe delivery receipt. No claims for damaged goods will be accepted if you have signed a courier or truck delivery receipt. Be wary, most transport companies will insist on a signature, but if you sign before an inspection, the customer accepts all responsibility for any damage and an insurance claim will not be possible as "signing" admits that the goods have been received in good condition.

Shipping Arrangements

Where customers require C.O.D. terms, all goods are shipped via Australia Post. Australia Post will endeavour to deliver smaller packages direct, but will only accept cash as the method of payment.

Purchases effected by Credit Card or "cleared" bank or personal cheques may be sent, at the customers choice, via Australia Post or by Fastways couriers. We have found "Fastways" to be a reliable and very economical service and offer a door-to-door service. Using "Fastways" also avoids C.O.D. related costs.

Cars, Parts, Trim and Accessories

Capital Classics is Canberra's connection for early Mustangs and parts. We deal primarily in the 64-68 models, but as the business expands, so will the stock.

We have many years of experience with Mustangs and cater for the enthusiast, the restorer and owners seeking the many options made available for these cars.

In addition to our stocks of upholstery, sheetmetal and restoration parts, we specialise in the early Mustang optional items such as consoles for 64-68s (auto and manual), manual and auto shifters, woodgrain steering wheels, cabin A/C units, RallyPaks, GT lite kits, original jacks (with ratchet handles !), magnum wheels, luggage racks when available and some original and repop Shelby parts.

On top of fast, friendly service, our prices are tough to beat on those hard to get rare pieces. We can beat most dealers on standard restoration stuff, and we try that little bit harder to fill those unusual orders.

Capital Classics is now an authorised dealer for Scott Drake Mustang Parts, PRO Products and TMI Industries, manufacturers of Mustang upholstery and trim.

As I now have a 64 USA Falcon Sprint convertible undergoing a restoration so it can be used as a cruiser and wedding car, we are developing a Falcon supplement showing the restoration, the problems encountered and the parts and information suppliers.

Capital Classics stocks many parts for early Mustangs at competitive prices. We try to have in stock consoles, woodgrain wheels, rally paks and hubcaps. We have sources in the USA for these items and our initial buying trip focused on these items.

Experience is a great teacher and we've learned what repop parts to avoid - if we know the repop won't work , we go for good, original used parts because we know they WILL fit. If we don't stock it yet, we will soon.

Capital Classics can also be of service with interior trim needs. Single seat and front only sets of early upholstery are standard stock items. Why buy a complete set if you only need less than that?

Parts and Prices

We are often asked for catalogues showing parts and prices. Due to the ever-fluctuating Australian Dollar, a price catalogue would be out of date in a week.

Parts catalogues are different and we have arranged a small order of generic catalogues and expect them soon. We can mail one out to interested customers along with a comprehensive TMI catalogue - just call us to get a price on any part you like We may not have it in stock, but we can get it and it will illustrate how competitive we are.

The following parts list is but a small sample of our extensive range. If we don't have a part we can get it, either locally or airfreighted.

Car Import

If you are seeking an early Mustang and don't see something you like here, Capital Classics can import almost any car you want, from a coupe needing a full mechanical/trim restoration to the honest daily drivers you saw earlier. For the more serious car-buffs, we have locaters in the USA who can track down the elusive model you want. Special interest vehicles require deposits.
